Hair

I am devoting today's entire blog to the topic of hair. Hairy hair...
If any of you don't already know this Garrett is one hairy dude, the hair on his head grows faster than anyone else I have ever met. And the kid can grow a Grizzly Adams beard in about 5 minuets. And recently he has he has entered himself (along with a few other furry friends) in a hair growing contest. Yep I said it, a hair growing contest........*sigh*
What does a hair growing contest consisit of do you ask? Well let me tell you. Apparently these guys are going to go the entire month of July without shaving at all. Not even a trim. Needless to say I am not too excited! I don't think any woman has ever minded a little sexy five '0' clock shadow, but I have never really found the whole "Burt Renolds from 1970" beard all to sexy! haha

So wish me luck Ladies..... I'm in for a ticklish kiss filled month.
Farewell to this smooth faced Garrett, I will see you in August!

And off the next hair story. Which seems to be a constantly changing story, my hair. I have changed it yet again! We are off to Vegas this weekend so I figured it was a fitting time for something new... so here it is. Shorter and Darker =]

I hope you all have an amazing 4th of July Weekend! I will talk to again when we get back from VEGAS! Be safe and have fun!

Fathers Day

My dad is probably the coolest dad ev....

I love him so much, more than he or anyone will ever know !

Yesterday morning we went out to breakfast with the whole family and had a blast. I got to visit my favorite little Asian baby Toni. She is my cousins adorable little 1 month old girl. She is so freaken cute sometimes I think I might just kidnap her! I got some really good cuddle time in with her, and they may or may not have been a good thing. haha I get so baby hungry when I hold her!

Then we headed up to Park City with my parents and grandma for a cute little street fair. It was really fun! I forget how pretty it is up there in the summertime. Its such amazing weather and it smells so fresh and mountain-ey. :) I think Garrett and are are going to have to go back up there sometime this summer for a couple nights!

After Park City we headed back down to visit Bryan, Garrett's Step Dad. Then we headed down to Provo ( I think we used a whole tank of gas this day) to see Garrett's Padre.

Doesn't Garrett look just like his dad?

We hung out with Russell, Caymien and the pups for a while before we headed over to Garrett's Uncle Dug's for a BBQ. It was real fun! Happy Fathers day to all the wonderful dads out there!! Don't mind that I am posting this 1 day late =]

This is a pretty flower we saw while roaming the streets in Park City!

Wild Date Night: Olive Garden & Target

Yep, this is my 3rd blog post of the day, haha I am really starting to like this thing. I guess I just have a lot of things I want share with you all today. So here is round 3... :)

Tonight my very handsome husband decided to take me out on a date. Tomorrow my cute little Great Grandma Dolar has to go in to get a knee replacement. Its going to be a long recovery with lots of trips to the hospital. So Gar wanted to take me out before life gets too crazy! So off to olive garden we went. I ate my weight in Salad and Bread sticks and left room in my belly for only 5 or 6 bites of my actual dinner. I do that every stinken time! But Olive Garden leftovers makes for a delish lunch the next day!

After dinner we headed over to Target to do some shopping for our cute little nephew Jase and Garrett's sister Cigi. Little Jase said that all he wanted for his birthday is CARS! (This is what he has been asking for all birthdays and Christmas for the past 2 years) He also decided he wanted some sweet Iron Man loot. While shopping for the Iron Man toys we found a funny little mask, and couldn't resist...

Every time we go to target we can never just walk in and out. It seems like every time we go there we end up strolling through all the isles. We ended up in the bathroom section tonight and decided to get new towels so we could pull our 2nd bathroom set out of the closet =] Thanks to the Cute little Fredrickson Family for the bathroom set! It looks super cute!

P.s. I got some cute new shoes....look they are flats!! Go lisa, if my feet could talk they would thank me. lol

The Mr.

Ps. isn't Garrett super smart? He figured out how to make the cute font on my titles and side bar! It would have taken me 2 months to figure out how to do that... he did in 2 hours! Husband of the year goes to him!!!

Lessons Learned

A cute friend of mine just got married a few months before Garrett and I did. A couple days ago she posted on her blog some of the funniest things she is learning with being a new housewife. Silly things that you don’t learn until you have the experience. So I am going to steal her idea. Everyone told Garrett and I before we got married that we would learn so many new things about living together and living without our parents once we got our own place. I never really listened to them. I mean how hard can it really be? Lol Well… I guess this is where the whole “You live and you learn” phrase came from. Man have we learned a lot of new things over the past few months. So I thought that I would give you all an update on all the new things I am learning with living on our own!

  • As soon as the words “Don’t spill on the new rug” come out of your mouth… someone will spill on the new rug.
  • If the dishwasher is draining water into the sink, DO NOT turn on the garbage disposal. It will make a real big splash. And if you kitchen is really small like mine, the water will spray across all the kitchen walls.
  • If you husband is cutting up raw chicken and he throws away a couple pieces in the garbage, one of you HAVE to take the trash out that night. If you don’t… you will wake up to your entire kitchen smelling like a rotten dogs butt!
  • Sometimes frozen hamburger patties freeze together. Sometimes when you try to pry them apart with a butter knife they still won’t budge. If you grab an extremely sharp knife and stab the hamburger patties, you can miss. You will probably stab yourself right in the finger and it will bleed really badly!
  • Boys pee different than girls. And if the boy isn’t careful he will make a mess. But the girl usually won’t find the mess until she goes to clean the toilet for the first time. It will be gross, and you may want to puke.
  • Cookies are made to be cooked on cookie sheets. If you try to cook them in a different type of pan they won’t look right. They could even morph into one large extremely thin cookie… and that type of cookie burns really fast!
  • And last but not least my biggest lesson so far! …..Potatoes may look like they stay fresh for a long time. Don’t be fooled. If you put them in your pantry with lots of other food, they will slowly start to smell. And if you don’t know it’s your potatoes that stink, you will probably start to throw away other food that is not bad. Because you don’t know what is making your pantry smell like “something that stinks so badly, when you touch it your hands will stink for an hour” as Garrett puts it. Take my advice… check the potatoes first. Because after 3 weeks in the pantry, when you lift up the bag you will notice that a few of the potatoes are swollen. They will have white puss and they will have some kind of “liquid” dripping off them. It will almost make your husband cry. Gross!!

Everyday is a new lesson for us, and even if most of the lessons end in a huge mess, stinky kitchen, or a cut so bad you can see your fat and mussels hanging out; it is still so much fun learning together! I am loving married life its been a crazy fun adventure! =]

Mrs. Ford…. The Newlywed, the blogger.

So its official. I have decided to start a blog. I have been thinking of starting this for a while now. I wanted to start it while Garrett and I were engaged, but needless to say I was a little too occupied with wedding planning to do a blog also. So here we go... bear with me while I try to figure this thing out. =] Stay tuned... More to come!
