Thanksgiving Weekend

Ahhh... why cant every week have a four day weekend!? They are the best, but I swear they come and go faster than a regular weekend. We had such a fun/busy/relaxing weekend! This year Garrett's dads family decided to do thanksgiving dinner on Saturday, which meant we only had to juggle 2 dinners this year and both were here in the valley! We started the day with a late lunch at Garrett's mom's house, which was so fun and the food was amazing! Turkey is probably one of my favorite dinners ever, I cant get enough of it. :) But usual me, I never remember to take any pictures. I really need to start getting better with this or I am never going to have pictures of the first year of our marriage! Then we headed over to Tracie's for dinner with my fam, which is all ways a good time! After dinner we all just hung out and talked for a long time. It was so fun! I Love when our family gets together for the holidays- I wish we could do it more frequently throughout the year!

After dinner Gar and I went home and cuddled up next to the Christmas tree (p.s. We put it up on Tuesday night! haha I am bad I know!!) and watched "Eat Pray Love." I love nights like that!

I have never been a huge "Black Friday" shopper. Garrett and I went last year for a bedroom set, but that was only because we really needed it! I wish I had the motivation to get up at 3 AM to get all those killer deals... but frankly I just don't have it in me. Ha! So we got up around 7 ish and went over to Lowes and got a cordless drill and garage door opener. We got them for a freaken sweet deal too! That's my kind of Black Friday shopping! We had lots of visitors on Friday which was so fun- I love showing off our house to everyone! Russell, Nessa, Shirley, Brandon, Cute KD, Krewseter and a bunch of friends all made stops by throughout the day. I felt like quite the host. =] Spent the night trying to make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies but epic-ly failed! They were gross!!

Saturday we headed up the canyon to Garrett's Uncle Doug's Cabin. It was so pretty up there and we had so much fun eating more yummy food and hanging out with the family! On the way home Saturday night we had a near death experience though... no joke!

-So we were driving down the freeway with absolutely no one around us. Then a guy in a blazzer started to come up behind us. And then just kept coming until he was so close to my back bumper we couldn't even see his lights. He was so close Garrett didn't want to brake check him, because he would probably slam into the back of us. So Gar just started to slow down- he slowed down to like 45 or 50 and the guy backed off. Then about 30 seconds or so later he comes up real close behind us again and then whips over onto our side (my passenger side). He came up even with my window and starts screaming at us. He honestly looked so freaking crazy mad!! And then all of a sudden jerks his wheel and trys to slam his car into ours!! I was freaking out and screaming!! Garrett had to slam on the breaks and completely swerve into the other lane because they crazy guy was completely in our lane! Then the guy went back into his lane a little and then swerved again to our lane. Then he just started driving way fast and got off the next freeway exit! It was probably one of the most scary moments of my life, I swear he was literally about 2 inches from slamming into the side of us! We tried to get his licence but he drove away so fast we couldn't see anything but an A. We called the cops anyway but they couldn't really do anything. People really need to learn how to control their road rage, he could have killed us! It was so scary!!

The rest of the weekend was just full of family time, visitors, Christmas tree cuddling, and putting up the garage door opener and the rest of our decorations! All in all it was a pretty amazing weekend and I cant wait for Christmas!!! I hope you all had a safe and fun weekend too!

House!

For everyone who doesn't know yet..... WE GOT THE HOUSE! We are completely overjoyed and are so excited to take this big empty house and turn it into our home! We got the keys on Friday and were all moved before noon on Saturday. Its so weird to have so much space. I don't know what do with it all just yet. Coming from a little 1 bedroom apartment to a 3 bed 2 bath home, feels like we are moving into a castle! I am so obsessed with having my own master bath and walk in closet! I feel like a queen =] And having a garage is pretty dang cool if you ask me! Its so much easier to unload groceries from the garage to kitchen - instead of from the car, across the apartment parking lot, and up 3 flights of stairs!

I never knew I could be so excited to shovel! We woke up to a driveway full of snow on Sunday morning and I was so excited to go shovel my very own driveway! I was jumping on the bed for Garrett to wake up and come outside with me to shovel! And I have already learned the complicated trick of getting heavy snow off our tree branches =] Its going to be so much fun (and maybe expensive) learning all the things that come with being a home owner!

We are pretty much all unpacked... depending on what you version of unpacked means. There is nothing in boxes anymore. But piles of stuff that were in the boxes spread all throughout each room in the house. ha ha we are making slow but steady progress at finding a place for everything!

Everyone as been at me about posting pictures, so this weekend it is my goal to get everything put away so I can take some pictures and put them up here!! Wish me luck =]

Update

Okay, so I've got a pretty exciting update on the house! The home inspection has been done and it went perfect! I could not have asked for it to go any better. There were a few things here and there that could use updating but absolutely nothing major. I was so so excited to hear that. And in the inspection we were able to find out something pretty crazy about the house. The inspector took us into one of the bedrooms where the attic access is and started talking about some secret room. Garrett and I must have had pretty confused looks on our faces, because the inspector stopped what he was saying after a while and was like "no, seriously- there is a secret room up in the attic!" Haha apparently the people who live there built a some weird secret room up in the attic. Its complexity dry walled in and has a fire alarm. I told Garrett if he ever makes me mad that's where he has to sleep! ;) Pretty weird, but we'll take it- I guess I can hide up there if anyone breaks into our house!

The appraisal has also been done and came in higher than what we are buying it for, so that made us both very happy! We found our homeowners insurance and the loan has been sent off to underwriting- we are on our way! Our mortgage broker told us we will be signing by the 19th or sooner. I am so freaken excited I cant even wait!! I have started packing a little here and there but I think its time to kick our butts in gear and get that apartment packed up because we are almost out of there!! Woo Hoo!!

Home Sweet Home

So Garrett and I got some pretty exciting news this weekend, the bank has accepted the offer on our house! I am ecstatic! Buying a house so far has been a crazy emotional roller coaster. We put the offer in over a month and a half ago and its been nothing short of torture waiting to hear back. And now that they have finally accepted our offer I am filled with a million emotions. I am so happy/scared/anxious and excited! We are scheduled to close on the house November 19th at the latest if all goes smoothly from here. :) And do you want to hear something pretty ironic? November 19th is our 5 year anniversary! Talk about a great way to celebrate an anniversary, getting our first house!! I have never been more excited for a month filled with moving boxes and packing tape!! I will keep you posted! =]

I'm not dead

I think the 30 day challenge ruined my blogging skills for life! haha just kidding... I have sucked at blogging lately, but I am sure I will have something to write about soon. :)

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

Day 27, 28, 29 & 30! Done and Done!

Well I am sick of doing this 30 days thing... haha so I quit! I am getting too bored with it! Its hard to blog about things that your not excited to blog about, especially if you have to do it every day. So call me a quiter if you would like haha but I am done!

On a better note....

I got my first flu shot ever today! No getting sick over the holidays for me! =] Lets see how it works, hopefully I will love it. So far I don't feel sick, but I heard today that when people say they get sick from the flu shot that its a myth. So I am going to stick to that- Mind over matter!
But my arm hurts like a mother, hopefully that's normal!

Day 26

What I think of my friends! :)
Well this one should be pretty easy! I am the kind of person who doesn't have a million random fake friends. I have an amazing smaller group of friends that are true Friends, friends that are there for me through think and thin, and who love me no matter what. And friends who have the balls to tell me if I am out of line :) And because I have chose to only surround myself with those friends I have nothing but great things to say about all of them. No Drama!
You are amazing! I don't think I need to name names- I think you all know who you are! :)

Day 25

Whats in My Bag?
Well on any given day you can find pretty much anything and everything but the kitchen sink! But right now it is in pretty good shape because I just cleaned it out a couple days ago.
But here is the list of whats in there this morning:

  • Hair Clip

Day 24

A letter to my Parents!
Sorry I am a little late with this one, its been a busy busy weekend!

Mom & Dad,

I love you. Thank you for always being there for me in every way. Thank you for being such an amazing example for me. You have taught me what love means, what it means to be a family, and what a loving marriage looks like. You have given me everything within your means, but taught me modesty and gratitude. You have shown me so much love, hugs, and kisses. I am so grateful for all the great times we had together, but have also learned so much from the hard times. I have so many amazing childhood, teenage, and adult memories with you both. I think this is what makes you such great parents- you have played a constant loving role in my life at every age. From day and one, I have never seen anything but love from you. I have such amazing memories with each of you!

Dad- Every childhood Saturday morning memory of mine belongs to you. While mom was at work you were there for some serious Lisa and Dad time. I would wake up to you eating a bowl of honey nut Cheerios on the couch. You let me wake up on my "terms" while we watched "This old House" or "Trucks! & Horse Power TV". Then when I would get hungry I would go into the kitchen to find that you had already gone to the store at 5 AM that morning to get us doughnuts for breakfast! - I know to anyone else that could seem like a pretty lame Saturday morning for a young girl. But to me it was better than a million bucks. I would never take back even 1 of those Saturday mornings with me and my dad, I will remember those mornings forever!

Mom- The first thing that comes to mind when I think of childhood memories with you is hanging out with you at the Hair Salon. I absolutely loved the countless times you would let me come to work with you and just hang around. I loved coming along and being your little Mini Me! I would just spend the day reading magazines, eating a lifetime supply of skittles, and listening to the beauty shop gossip! And then you and I would make a special girls lunch trip every time. It was our special thing!
I love you both more than you know, Thanks for being you!
Love, Weezer Bubby.

Day 23

Something I crave A LOT!
I have never been a candy or sweets person, they are good from time to time. But I have a special place in my heart and my belly for CARBS! MMMM I cant get enough.....
This brings me to Olive Garden bread sticks and salad! I could eat this everyday for lunch dinner and desert, its so good!

..... aaaannnd more Carbs- Soft Mall Pretzels =] Not the kind you get at sporting events or the movies- those ones are too hard and salty. Mall pretzels (PretzelMaker or Pretzel Time) are soft and have just the right amount of salt and butter. haha as you can tell I am pretty passionate about my pretzels!

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Day 22

What makes me different then everyone else!
Well I cant promise these things will be different than everybody in the whole world, but I think different than most I know :)
  • I am SO scared of scary movies- I can't even watch the TV Commercials, I have to change the channel.
  • I like the smell of hay
  • I cant tell a story without my using hands or making sound effects
  • I never do my makeup the exact same way twice- I have like 25 different eye shadows and I can never remember how to do it the same as the last time.
  • I don't know my favorite color
  • I cut the tags out of all of my clothes, they freak me out!
  • I hate the smell of girl deodorant
  • I sniff everything before I eat it
  • I don't know my real hair color!
  • I am really afraid of swimming with fish- I just know one of them is going to bite me. Or they are going to attract a shark and the shark will eat me! haha

There you go! PS I don't know if i have mentioned this or not- but I think I am ready for this 30 days thing to be over! haha its fun reading everyone elses posts but its hard blogging every single day!

Day 21

A picutre of something that makes me happy!
Align Center

Day 20

Someone I see myself marrying :)
Well, this has been the easiest post so far... Say Hello to Mr. & Mrs. Ford!

I know this sounds silly and totally cheesy but I pretty much knew I was going to marry Garrett since I was 16 years old! We have been two peas in a pod and connected at the hip since day one and I love him so much! More and more everyday =]

Sunday, September 26, 2010

Day 19

Nicknames I have and why :)
Lis- haha this one should be pretty self explanatory. Just a little short version of my real name. Austin is the main person who calls me this :)
Weeze or Weezer- I literally have no idea where this one came from! I just remember my dad calling me this for as long as I can remember. Haha but my dad comes up with the craziest crap, so there probably is really no explanation behind it! :) And for whatever reason he named Aus Cheeser. So we are weezer and cheeser.
Bubbie- This one is owned entirely by my mom. This was her nickname for me from birth, and she has never stopped using it to this day! The craziest thing is Garrett's mom has also called him this since day 1 too! Weird? I think so!
Babe, Baby, Honey, Manooge- Garrett simultaneously calls me these names plus a million others that I cant think of now. I never actually hear him say Lisa, unless something is wrong! haha I love it!

Day 18

Plans, Dreams, Goals I have :)
When I was a little younger most of my plans, dreams and goals were based around materialistic things. Like winning the lottery, having the biggest house with the nicest cars, and a closet full of designer clothes. But in the past few years my dreams and priority's are based more around family, happiness and good health. .... well and maybe a couple things from the list above! :)
Plans/Goals:
  • Be out of our apartment and into our house by December.
  • Finish most of the basement renovations by spring.
  • Start seriously planning for our retirement and setting up a Roth IRA account
  • Start building a very strong savings for future baby planning :)
  • Get out of Garretts car
  • Start planning for Christmas!
  • Start a new Holiday Tradition for our own little family unit :)

Dreams:

  • Maintain a happy and healthy life until the day Garrett and I both die (I have decided now that Garrett and I will be going out "The Notebook style")
  • Have a little family of 4 by age 27
  • Be able to help out someone in need in a major way
  • Have my kids grow up in the same school system from Kindergarten to Graduation.
  • Travel the world with my family
  • Help our parents retire comfortably one day

Friday, September 24, 2010

Day 17

Someone I would want to switch lives with for 1 day and why =]

I would want to switch lives with Jack Jonson. This year he is on tour for his most recent Album. And 100% of his profits are going to charity, he has been doing this for the past 3 ears. I think that is so amazing! Just think of 3 years worth of world tours, imagine how much money that must be. Millions and Millions! I would absolutely LOVE to have the money to just give it all away to people who need it way more than I do. I love the feeling that comes with being able to give to others, I think its one of the best feelings in the world!
Plus who wouldn't want to be a Pro Surfer/ famous singer - who lives in Hawaii and plays the guitar all the time? I would!

Thursday, September 23, 2010

Day 16

Another Picutre of Me :)

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

Day 15

Put your Ipod on shuffle and name the first 10 songs that play:

Well I don't have an Ipod... I don't do so hot with electronics. I had one once, but I broke it! haha
But I love Pandora (if you haven't heard of this you need to get it!!) and I listen to it all the time, So I am going to put that on and see the first 10 songs that come up in my playlist shuffle! =]

1. "Come Away With Me" Norah Jones
2. "Big Green Tractor" Jason Aldean
3. "Give Me That Girl" Joe Nicholes
4. "American Honey" Lady Antebellum
5. "Lucky" Colbie Caillat & Jason Maraz
6. " Angel/ Better Together" Live Version Jack Johnson
7. " My Best Friend" Tim McGraw
8. " Tonight I Wanna Cry" Keith Urban
9. "Break Away" Staind
10. " You're My Better Half" Keith Urban

Autumn

Fall is almost here! Usually around this time of year I get really bummed out that summer is over. But not this year! I am so excited for Fall ! Its such a beautiful time of the year! Maybe its just because we have our own home (eehhh... apartment- but we can just pretend!) now, but I am so obsessed with fall decorations!
Fall brings so many other wonderful things :
Leafs changing colors!
Pumpkin Spice Lattes
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
Pumpkin Bread ( Do you see a theme here? haha)
Autumn Sunset Sentsey
Adorable Fall / Halloween themed Decorations
Hoodies!
Cuddling under fuzzy blankets
Carving Pumpkins
Thanksgiving!
70 Degree weather!
I hope you are all excited for fall too!
Tonight I got an add From Michaels in the mail and was sucked in....
And found this cute little Gem! I was so excited to run home and put up my first decoration! Hopefully I can take it down soon... and can put it back up again at our new house!

Day 14

Pitures of my family and I! :)

Monday, September 20, 2010

Day 13

A letter to someone who has hurt me recently.

Well I haven't really been hurt lately, luckily I have wraped myself with some pretty amazing people and don't have to deal with a whole lot drama! So I am going to take this one a Little differently, I am going to write a letter to someone who has hurt me in a different kinda way. Ha!

Dear Garrett Ford,

Why can't you let me sleep at night? Why do you love to keep me up with all of the crazy noises and movements you make all night long? I understand that you are a very heavy sleeper, and sometimes you don't have control over your dreams and body movements- but if you slap or punch me in your sleep one more time I promise I will kick you in your face!
I will see you again tonight, you have been warned!
Love, your sleep deprived wife

Sunday, September 19, 2010

Day 12

How I found out about blogs and why I made one.
Well up until about a year ago I literally had no idea what a blog was! I always heard people talking about them but wasn't very interested in finding out what they really were. And then one day I was going through my Internet favorites list at my parents house trying to delete some useless links. When I came across a link to my best friend's sister's (basically my sister from another mister ha!) Blog. And then I saw her blog friends list and found blogs for so may people I know, from that point I was hooked! I wanted to make one right then and there! But just a couple days Garrett proposed to me and it was a whirlwind for the next 7 months and I never had time to make one. But I here I am now! :)

Saturday, September 18, 2010

Day 11

A Picutre of my friends and I -

Haha We are such dorks together!

Me and My favorite Girls!

Friday, September 17, 2010

Day 10

Songs I listen to when I am Happy, Sad, Bored, Hyped, Mad
Well I pretty much listen to country 95% of the time and I think there is a different country song to cover each of these emotions!
Happy: This is probably the one category I can say something besides country! I think my favorite happy time song is "Better Together" from Jack Johnson!
Sad: "What hurts the most" from Rascal Flatts - it reminds me of when Garrett was in the hospital.
Bored: haha I literally have no idea what to put here. I don't think there is anything in particular that I listen to when I am bored!
Hyped: Jason Aldean "My kind of Party"
Mad: I think anything works for this one... just any song I can turn up really loud and scream my little heart out to! haha

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Day 9

Something I am proud of in the past few days and why...
Well I would have to say I am pretty proud of Garrett and I in the past little while for putting an offer in on a house. We have both been working so hard for a long time saving for this! And I am so exited we are finally at a place in our lives where we can do this!
So there you have it! I don't think I am very good at bragging about myself so I kinda suck at this one!
Haha I will do better tomorrow!

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Day 8

Short Term Goals for this month....
  • Make some serious progress with the offer on our House!
  • Whiten my teeth
  • Complete this 30 day challenge- its been harder to keep up on than I thought!
  • Come up with a new recipe to cook for dinner
  • Go visit and take care of my Cute Great Grandma & Grandpa Dolar at least 2 times a week.I have been slacking with this lately!
  • Get into the fall season with some fun Autumn and Halloween decorations!

I will let you know next month how I did with my list!

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Day 7

A Picture of Someone/ Something that has the biggest impact on me!

Well this one has been the easiest post so far! My family is 100% the biggest and most important part of my life. They have shaped me and made me who I am today. My parents have shown me more love and guidance than anyone could ever ask for in a lifetime! And Austin has been my right hand man since day one, my partner in crime! He has been the best little buddy! And my loving husband Garrett has been the most amazing best friend for the past 5 years! We have grown up together and he is such a big part of me, and who I am today!

So I can say undoubtedly that these amazing 4 people have the biggest and most awesome impact on my life! And I love them more an more every day for it!

Monday, September 13, 2010

Day 6

My Favorite Super Hero and why.

Well... to be 100% honest with you I don't really know any super heroes. Well except for the ones that everyone knows - that movies are about, spider man, superman, bat man. But I don't like any of them. They all wear stupid skin tight out fits and masks... definitely not manly!

So what do I do when I don't know much about something? I google. So for the last 10 minutes I have been google-ing superheros. And this is what I found out: Comic book super heroes are Lame.

So heroes to a Real Life Super Hero!

This is my cousin Charlie. He is a soldier stationed in Afghanistan. This spring he had to leave his beautiful wife and sweet baby boy to serve our nation. Every day he is putting his life at on the line to protect ours. I don't watch too many super hero movies but I guarantee my super hero could kick the ass of any of those stupid tight wearing Sissy's!

God bless Charlie, Tiff, and baby Chase & and every other super hero serving our loved ones today!

I love you Chuck... come home safe :)

Sunday, September 12, 2010

Day Six

Places I have been! I have been so blessed in my life and have been able to travel to so many amazing places! Here are a few of my favorite that I have been too! =]

Paris... haha just kidding! I wish!
Vegas this summer with friends!

Playa Del Carmen, Mexico - Such a beautiful place!

Maui! One of my favorite places in the whole world!

Cabo! My first big vacation without my family.

Well that's a lie actually, just went with my adopted family! Thanks Domingos =]

Saturday, September 11, 2010

Day 4

A habit I wish I didn't have...
Anxiety over everything! I have always envied people who can make decisions on a whim or live with no reservations in life. People who can just go any where and do anything at the drop of a hat. I am usually the complete opposite of that. I am the girl who always have to have a plan. I cant make any major decision without weeks of thought. I sometimes get so caught up in little decisions in life. I wish sometimes I could focus more on the big picture, and not stress about the little things so much!
Haha and it just so happens to be that Garrett is a total free spirit . I guess that's why they say opposites attract. I think this is why we work so well together! When I get too worked up in life, he is always there to bring me peace, and when he wants to run out and make crazy big decisions I am there to help us think throughout the process!

Friday, September 10, 2010

Day 3

Pictures of friends and me! :)

Me and good old Garry!
Girl Friends at the Wedding!

Us and our Favorite Couple!

My boys and 1 :)

My Favorite Ladies!

I feel so blessed to have such amazing friends and family in my life! I love each and all of you more than you will ever know! You make my life such a fun and exciting adventure! =]

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Day 2

Meaning behind my blog name, Crazy Love
[krey-zee] [luhv]
When Garrett and I got Married instead of having a guest book, we had a scrapbook full of pictures of us that guests could sign. I filled the pages with engagement pictures, stickers and cute embellishments. One of the embellishments was a cute little box that said "Crazy Love."
I remember as soon as I saw it I fell in love with the phrase!
It describes exactly what our love is-
Its a fly by the seat of your pants kinda Love
A laugh so hard you cry kinda Love
An kissing every 5 minutes kinda Love
A completely- Crazy love!
So when I started this , I thought back on that scrapbook and knew exactly what I wanted to name my blog!

Smoking Mommy

I have no idea why this effected/bugged me so badly but for some reason it did, so I am going to share. Yesterday Garrett and I were out and about when I saw this cute pregnant girl with the cutest baby belly! Then we saw her boyfriend or husband walk up and I could have sworn I saw him smoking a cigarette right next to her. I don't know why it freaked me out so bad but it did! I was thinking how selfish can he be?! And then suddenly Garrett did a little gasp under his breath and I looked back over at them again. And the man had handed her his cigarette and she started smoking it herself! I immediately got a sick feeling in my belly. There are so many couples out there that try and try for years to have a baby and cant! I think it is disgusting that someone could take such a beautiful gift for granted! Its one thing if you want to smoke on your own and kill yourself slowly, but that poor little baby has no choice in this situation! I don't even know this little family and I wanted to cry for the little baby! I can only hope and pray that that little baby makes it out into this world happy and healthy....

That's all for today.

Home Sweet Home

Garrett and I decided a couple months ago that we are ready to get into the house hunting market. So exciting! The time is right, we are both in stable jobs and its definitely a buyers market. So we went out and found a real estate agent and mortgage broker and officially started the hunt about a month ago! I never knew how fun/scary/exciting/stressful/hard it was going to be. We have been having so much fun searching for our perfect house! We were looking for a few weeks but just couldn't find anything we could picture ourselves or our future family in. And then we found the "perfect" one! So we have put an offer in on it!! (I was craping my pants for sure!)

Now we are just waiting to hear back from the bank on our offer. So lets pray this does not take FOREVER! I am in love with this house and I have honestly dreamed about decorating it every night since we put the offer in! I know this sounds kinda weird but I cant wait for all the work- the yard work, the cleaning, and decorating! I want to plant cute flowers and have a garden!

I will keep you updated!

Mr GQ

I don't know if I ever told you how ghetto Garrett is sometimes but let me just share with you a little story he just shared with me. Haha oh god how I love my husband! So a couple weeks ago Garrett signed up for a corporate Volleyball game at work. He has been pretty excited about it. So today was the big event and last night he got his gym bag packed for the game. They played the game today around noon. Garrett went to change and was going through his bag checking everything he packed.... T shirt? Check. Basketball Shorts? Check. And then he realized he forgot his running shoes and socks! So out to the Volleyball court he headed wearing a t- shirt, b-ball shorts.... annnd dress socks and loafers! Haha!! He had to play the entire game in his business shoes!!! Oh gosh that kid cracks me up!

Brynlee Boo =]

Don't freak!! This is not a picture of a baby in my belly! (though some days lately I have been wishing I was cooking a little muffin in my oven, nessa is making me so baby hungry!) We recently found out that Nessa is going to be having a .... hold your breath.... A BABY GIRL!! If you can tell we are so happy and excited for Nessa and Bradon and we cant wait to meet little Brynlee! I love her cute little face already! Garrett already thinks they are going to be great Friends since he visits her every day while doing P90X with her daddy! haha I love it!

Ford - Gillespie- Gursslin - Williamson Fam Vacay

Ever since I can remember my family has vacationed at my Aunt and Uncles house in California. When I was younger I was so excited for the "Vacation" and fun. I could not wait to get in the car with my pillow, blanket and more snacks than I could imagine and hit the road for 10 +hours! I wanted to go everywhere and see everything! But in the past couple years, I am really starting to the crave the "family" part of the trip. I feel like I need to wrap myself in my family's love, I need to get my fill of their crazy crazy love!

Somehow in the craziness of the babies running and screaming, my dad and uncle cooking and yelling, the kids splashing in the pool, and my brother picking fights with Garrett- I feel at peace -In the totally wild chaos I feel at home.

I love this trip with my family more and more every year. Garrett has come with us for the past 3 years and it has been amazing to share this time with him. I can't wait to one day share this trip with our beautiful kids in the future! I love my family more than I can say!!

We had so much fun!!

Beard Be Gone

I am going to remind you all of the blog post I put up just about a month ago. The title was called Hairy Hair. It was about Garrett deciding to join a competition where he was going to grow his beard out for the whole month of July. Well today is July 26th and the competition has taken an ugly turn. I came to find out today that they have decided to shave early. Sounds like a lucky break for me right? The answer to that question is no. They have decided to shave everything off... everything but the mustache.

**Lets pause for a minute.... Can I just tell you how much I ABSOLUTELY hate mustaches? haha oh god they are awful! I am seriously afraid of them! I think they are a sure sign of a total creeper!**

Okay back to the story, so into the bathroom he went to shave it all off. Its a bitter sweet moment. I am so excited to see his clean checks again. But a little sad to see the side burns and chin hair to go. I have made him keep the chin hair for at least 3 years now. He looks so handsome with it =] I haven't seen him clean shaven since 11h grade. And on top of all that he is now throwing a creeper stash into the mix!

Here is the video to show the end result... be afraid. Thank god his hair grows fast... I cant wait for the good ol gar to be back!

Busy Busy

Its been too long since I have posted something on here! We have been SO busy lately. But we have had so many fun things going on and I haven't had 2 spare minutes to stop by and say hello. BUT... I promise I will be back soon with an full update on our life and tons of fun pictures!
Here is a few quick updates on what has been going on in the Ford home-

Vegas was a blast! SO hot... but defiantly so much fun.

My very best Friend Vanessa is almost 13 weeks pregnant and we are so excited to meet the little cutie. She will be finding out the sex in a few weeks and I honestly can not wait!(I 100% believe it is a girl!!) I have been going crazy waiting to buy cute little outfits! We are so happy for Vanessa and Bradon, but they are defiantly making me a little baby hungry!

Garrett has started P90X and is kicking some serious butt! He just started his 5th week and he is really starting to notice a difference in his body and flexability. He has lost an inch from his belly and is gaining a lot of mussel! I am so so proud of him he is really doing amazing!!

This last weekend we went camping near Tabby for my moms birthday and had so much fun. It was so beautiful up there!

We are having a great summer so far! I feel so blessed to be surrouned by such such an amazing support system filled with the best family and friends! Life is great =]

Hair

I am devoting today's entire blog to the topic of hair. Hairy hair...
If any of you don't already know this Garrett is one hairy dude, the hair on his head grows faster than anyone else I have ever met. And the kid can grow a Grizzly Adams beard in about 5 minuets. And recently he has he has entered himself (along with a few other furry friends) in a hair growing contest. Yep I said it, a hair growing contest........*sigh*
What does a hair growing contest consisit of do you ask? Well let me tell you. Apparently these guys are going to go the entire month of July without shaving at all. Not even a trim. Needless to say I am not too excited! I don't think any woman has ever minded a little sexy five '0' clock shadow, but I have never really found the whole "Burt Renolds from 1970" beard all to sexy! haha

So wish me luck Ladies..... I'm in for a ticklish kiss filled month.
Farewell to this smooth faced Garrett, I will see you in August!

And off the next hair story. Which seems to be a constantly changing story, my hair. I have changed it yet again! We are off to Vegas this weekend so I figured it was a fitting time for something new... so here it is. Shorter and Darker =]

I hope you all have an amazing 4th of July Weekend! I will talk to again when we get back from VEGAS! Be safe and have fun!

Fathers Day

My dad is probably the coolest dad ev....

I love him so much, more than he or anyone will ever know !

Yesterday morning we went out to breakfast with the whole family and had a blast. I got to visit my favorite little Asian baby Toni. She is my cousins adorable little 1 month old girl. She is so freaken cute sometimes I think I might just kidnap her! I got some really good cuddle time in with her, and they may or may not have been a good thing. haha I get so baby hungry when I hold her!

Then we headed up to Park City with my parents and grandma for a cute little street fair. It was really fun! I forget how pretty it is up there in the summertime. Its such amazing weather and it smells so fresh and mountain-ey. :) I think Garrett and are are going to have to go back up there sometime this summer for a couple nights!

After Park City we headed back down to visit Bryan, Garrett's Step Dad. Then we headed down to Provo ( I think we used a whole tank of gas this day) to see Garrett's Padre.

Doesn't Garrett look just like his dad?

We hung out with Russell, Caymien and the pups for a while before we headed over to Garrett's Uncle Dug's for a BBQ. It was real fun! Happy Fathers day to all the wonderful dads out there!! Don't mind that I am posting this 1 day late =]

This is a pretty flower we saw while roaming the streets in Park City!

Wild Date Night: Olive Garden & Target

Yep, this is my 3rd blog post of the day, haha I am really starting to like this thing. I guess I just have a lot of things I want share with you all today. So here is round 3... :)

Tonight my very handsome husband decided to take me out on a date. Tomorrow my cute little Great Grandma Dolar has to go in to get a knee replacement. Its going to be a long recovery with lots of trips to the hospital. So Gar wanted to take me out before life gets too crazy! So off to olive garden we went. I ate my weight in Salad and Bread sticks and left room in my belly for only 5 or 6 bites of my actual dinner. I do that every stinken time! But Olive Garden leftovers makes for a delish lunch the next day!

After dinner we headed over to Target to do some shopping for our cute little nephew Jase and Garrett's sister Cigi. Little Jase said that all he wanted for his birthday is CARS! (This is what he has been asking for all birthdays and Christmas for the past 2 years) He also decided he wanted some sweet Iron Man loot. While shopping for the Iron Man toys we found a funny little mask, and couldn't resist...

Every time we go to target we can never just walk in and out. It seems like every time we go there we end up strolling through all the isles. We ended up in the bathroom section tonight and decided to get new towels so we could pull our 2nd bathroom set out of the closet =] Thanks to the Cute little Fredrickson Family for the bathroom set! It looks super cute!

P.s. I got some cute new shoes....look they are flats!! Go lisa, if my feet could talk they would thank me. lol

The Mr.

Ps. isn't Garrett super smart? He figured out how to make the cute font on my titles and side bar! It would have taken me 2 months to figure out how to do that... he did in 2 hours! Husband of the year goes to him!!!

Lessons Learned

A cute friend of mine just got married a few months before Garrett and I did. A couple days ago she posted on her blog some of the funniest things she is learning with being a new housewife. Silly things that you don’t learn until you have the experience. So I am going to steal her idea. Everyone told Garrett and I before we got married that we would learn so many new things about living together and living without our parents once we got our own place. I never really listened to them. I mean how hard can it really be? Lol Well… I guess this is where the whole “You live and you learn” phrase came from. Man have we learned a lot of new things over the past few months. So I thought that I would give you all an update on all the new things I am learning with living on our own!

  • As soon as the words “Don’t spill on the new rug” come out of your mouth… someone will spill on the new rug.
  • If the dishwasher is draining water into the sink, DO NOT turn on the garbage disposal. It will make a real big splash. And if you kitchen is really small like mine, the water will spray across all the kitchen walls.
  • If you husband is cutting up raw chicken and he throws away a couple pieces in the garbage, one of you HAVE to take the trash out that night. If you don’t… you will wake up to your entire kitchen smelling like a rotten dogs butt!
  • Sometimes frozen hamburger patties freeze together. Sometimes when you try to pry them apart with a butter knife they still won’t budge. If you grab an extremely sharp knife and stab the hamburger patties, you can miss. You will probably stab yourself right in the finger and it will bleed really badly!
  • Boys pee different than girls. And if the boy isn’t careful he will make a mess. But the girl usually won’t find the mess until she goes to clean the toilet for the first time. It will be gross, and you may want to puke.
  • Cookies are made to be cooked on cookie sheets. If you try to cook them in a different type of pan they won’t look right. They could even morph into one large extremely thin cookie… and that type of cookie burns really fast!
  • And last but not least my biggest lesson so far! …..Potatoes may look like they stay fresh for a long time. Don’t be fooled. If you put them in your pantry with lots of other food, they will slowly start to smell. And if you don’t know it’s your potatoes that stink, you will probably start to throw away other food that is not bad. Because you don’t know what is making your pantry smell like “something that stinks so badly, when you touch it your hands will stink for an hour” as Garrett puts it. Take my advice… check the potatoes first. Because after 3 weeks in the pantry, when you lift up the bag you will notice that a few of the potatoes are swollen. They will have white puss and they will have some kind of “liquid” dripping off them. It will almost make your husband cry. Gross!!

Everyday is a new lesson for us, and even if most of the lessons end in a huge mess, stinky kitchen, or a cut so bad you can see your fat and mussels hanging out; it is still so much fun learning together! I am loving married life its been a crazy fun adventure! =]

Mrs. Ford…. The Newlywed, the blogger.

So its official. I have decided to start a blog. I have been thinking of starting this for a while now. I wanted to start it while Garrett and I were engaged, but needless to say I was a little too occupied with wedding planning to do a blog also. So here we go... bear with me while I try to figure this thing out. =] Stay tuned... More to come!
